Business development manager

The target customers are mostly corporates, producing finished goods for industrial applications and consumer goods. To successfully build new business, the BDM will have to build strong network at new customers as well as good relationships with colleagues. This requires communication, cooperation and lobbying at the right stakeholders. The BDM will identify opportunities in target groups and follow a hands-on stakeholder management tactic to get in touch with the right people at prospects. Once a prospect is successfully committed, the responsibility of that customer will be transferred to the account management team. The first focus of the BDM will be on Europe and selectively to other regions. He/She will travel approximately 40%, and report to the Commercial Director.

Your main responsibilities:
- Plan, develop and perform business development activities at new customers within our client's strategy
- Map customer decision making process and ensure proper cooperation between all parties involved, linking connections where appropriate
- Swiftly building a good understanding of prospects, influencers and DMU’s
- Coordinate and lead (long term) sales projects, internally and externally
- Map main competitive field and determine unique selling points
- Negotiate deals up till C-level
- Support the account management team with experience and ideas

Het profiel

- You have min BSc degree in Engineering/Sales and minimal 5 years experience in (international) business development
- You have extensive knowledge of production and technical environment and OEM business, knowledge of injection moulding is a plus
- You have a strong track record in networking and building new relationships
- You can fluidly speak Dutch and English
- Your competences : entrepreneurial, helicopter view, strong negotion and communication skills & pragmatic
- You are flexible en willing to travel around 40% of the time
